Powerful is a project set on empowering the girl child. To live in her truth, love and accept herself the way she is regardless of the social constructs of beauty imposed in today’s society. Powerful aims to eradicate the stigma surrounding colorism and negative views on any body types in Zimbabwe and the world at large. The short film accompanying the song and music video is based on a young lady battling between self-love and how those around her view her. The song preaches to her how important it is to always view herself in a positive light without needing confirmation from outside sources. Beauty and self-confidence should come from within and need not be validated by anyone else.
